From digital design to a 3D printed socket

How a validated digital design moves to manufacturing — and why export formats matter.

Once a design has been reviewed and validated, it is ready to move from the screen to the workshop.

Export for manufacturing

Bion3D exports production-ready models in common formats such as STL, OBJ and PLY, so designs can be sent to 3D printers or other manufacturing workflows.

Post-processing and fitting

After printing, the socket is finished and prepared for fitting. Because the design is stored digitally, it becomes part of the patient’s history — making adjustments and future sockets faster and more consistent.
